Interesting profile for what we need. Worth a second look before we move.

In short
  • One shortlist per need, with its budget
  • Three to five names, ranked
  • Who they are, what they are worth, why them and the risks
  • One player per screen and the recommendation last

One shortlist per need

The board does not decide on "interesting players", it decides on needs: "we need a left-back for the first team". Each shortlist answers a specific need, with its approximate budget.

Three to five names, in order

Fewer than three leaves no margin if the first option gets complicated. More than five turns the meeting into an endless debate. Rank them by preference and say why.

What to show for each player

  • Who they are: age, position, foot, club and photo.
  • What they are worth to us: average rating, how many reports there are and from how many different scouts.
  • Why them: the two or three strengths that answer the need.
  • The risks: what is still unknown or what worries you. Hiding it only delays the question.
  • Situation: contract, agent and estimated cost.

How to present it

One player per screen, with the same information in the same place for everyone: that way they compare themselves. And a final screen with the department's recommendation.

In SquadOffice every shortlist comes out in presentation mode or as a PDF with this data, taken from the profile at that moment.
